Reflection

Experience - I enjoyed Advanced Typography way more than Typography even though they were both equally as impactful in terms of my development. This is because there were more freedom in terms of artistic execution and the direction I would want it to go. There were also a lot of independence given to us which I appreciated as often times, my vision does not match up with someone else's thus making it less so enjoyable for me. To sum it up, each task was a challenge but it helped me understand how the knowledge I have obtained would be applied in works outside of Advanced Typography.

Observation - I found that the reason why it was more restrictive in Typography initially was because I was still grasping the basics and now that I have a good idea of it, I can effectively use it in the manner I want to while following the basic rules. Furthermore, I observed that oftentimes the feedbacks can be harsh especially when you've spent hours on the design/task but it ends up not being approved. Although it was difficult to take, this has helped me understand that sometimes time spent does not equate to satisfactory. This helped me grow as a designer as it prepares me mentally for the real world where not all things can go smoothly.

Findings - I found that I enjoy creating stop motion animation, in fact it was one of my favourite things to do throughout the tasks. Seeing the outcome and understanding the amount of planning and time it takes to execute it made the whole process a lot more satisfying. This is an asset in which I can use in my future career. I also found that digital animations in softwares such as After Effects is not my strong suit. However, I can see myself slowly improving and thats what matters.
